See Through Filter Assemblies
See Through oil filter assemblies allow the user to visually see oil pumping through the filter, which helps to determine the condition of the oil. When oil is not being pumped through the filter it can quickly drained using an air chuck for filling tires and compressed air. A hand bicycle pump will also work. apply a small shot of air to the air fitting on the side of the inlet opening. oil will empty out of the assembly in seconds exposing the filter element and filtered particles, even when filtering non transparent fluids like dirty oil. This allows the user to visually inspect particles and contaminants that were filtered out of the system to determine if they are from normal use or from bearings and other components excessively wearing in the engine or machinery supplying the filter assembly.

THIS BRACKET COMES EITHER CLEAR OR BLACK AND IS SUPPLIED WITH EACH 6″ FILTER ASSEMBLY SOLD! 6″ Mounting Bracket will mount to both the 6″ Hi-Flow and 6″ Screw-On Filter. Brings mounting holes to either side of the filter depending on where the Inlet and Outlet Ports need to face and where the Air Fitting is easily reached.
When mounting a 6” See Through Filter Assembly in the same place as an oberg filter was mounted, we offer different Mount Flanges that bolt the mounting bracket Part #175 supplied with the filter. This Bracket Part #177 will mount to the existing mounting holes used with the later billet finned style obergs that have 2.375” center to center mounting holes.
When mounting a 6” See Through Filter Assembly in the same place as an oberg filter was mounted, we offer different Mount Flanges that bolt the mounting bracket Part #175 supplied with the filter. This Bracket Part #175 will mount to the existing mounting holes used with the Early obergs have 3.00” center to center mounting holes.
Bracket kit is used when mounting the filter to the bell housing on the drivers or left side of a SB or BB Chevy. Bracket is mainly used for boat applications. Bracket Kit Part #175 the 6” filter bracket mounts directly to the bell housing bracket part #190 on the left side of the engine.

This Bracket Kit Mounts the 4” Filter Assemblies to a flat surface on an angle. The angle bracket swivels 180 degrees, so it can be mounted to any flat surface vertical or horizontal and every angle in between, so the filter top is level.
Bracket is used when mounting filter to the bell housing on the drivers or left side of a SB or BB Chevy. Bracket is mainly used for boat applications. Bracket Kit Part # 470 the 4” straight mounting bracket mounts to the bell housing bracket Part # 480 to the left of the engine.

This bracket kit mounts to a flat surface so the filter inlet and outlet ports are facing straight out from the mounting surface. Works on all 4” see through filter assemblies. Also can be mounted to the end of the drivers side head of a SB Chevy using bracket kit Part # 485 or BB Chevy using bracket kit Part # 490.
6″ and 4″ Filter Replacement Parts and Fittings
When purchasing a See Through Filter Assembly we recommend also purchasing an Extra Filter Element, A Sight Window and an O-Ring Kit. These are the main parts that wear and may need replacing.
6″ and 4″ Filter Replacement Filter Elements
Filter elements for filter assemblies the filter elements are reusable stainless steel mesh with viton® rubber seals around the inside and outside edges. These filter elements come in different micron mesh openings to accommodate all different types, thicknesses and viscosity’s of oils and fluids. The larger the number the coarser the mesh. Elements will be able to be reused many times over and over again by just cleaning the filter element. Should always have a spare element just in case the seals start failing. These elements will fit other brands of flat screen style filters, including oberg, moroso, and holley.
The 60 Micron Filter Element is used for engine oils 50 weight or lighter.
The 115 Micron Filter Element works for engine oils 60 weight or heavier.
**New** 380 Micron filter Element works for oils up to 70 weight. These Elements are made with a very coarse 380 micron mesh which allows diesel soot to flow through without sticking and gumming up the element.
The 28 Micron Filter Element works when used for Fuels or Trans Fluid.
The 60 Micron Filter Element works for engine oils up to 50 weight.
The 115 Micron Filter Element works for engine oils 60 weight or heavier.
6″ and 4″ Filter Replacement Sight Windows
Filter Sight Windows have a glass type coating over the poly carbonate that is very thin. This makes the window resistant to chemicals, solvents, & petroleum oils. The thin glass coating may crack over time because the coating does not flex or expand with heat the same as the poly-carbonate window does. Sight windows are very easy to change and is recommend to have a spare in case a crack develops in the coating. Windows come in different thicknesses.

Filter O-ring Kits for filter assemblies the o-rings used to seal the window into filter assemblies are made of viton®, which is heat, fuel, solvent and chemical resistant. Its recommended to have a replacement o-ring kit when running a see through filter assembly.
